The Kent Reporter awarded the Dilettante Mocha Café as the best coffee shop of 2021. While the last year has provided added challenges, Dilettante has always been proud to provide a quality experience to the Kent area. At this time, we would like to thank everyone who has visited and supported us.
During the holiday season, there is always time to enjoy a warm beverage at a favorite café. The December season brings new reasons to spend time with others and plenty of ways to celebrate the festive season. It is more important than ever to keep track of our health alongside the festivities during this time.
Every café has a story behind it. Between finding a name, finding the perfect location, and eventually serving customers, a café is defined. Dilettante’s Mocha Café has had a long, 45-year journey, and in that time, we have had the opportunity to share its craft with many people in the Pacific Northwest.
There are many reasons why someone would want to visit a café, but most visit for one reason. Cafés are traditionally known for specialty handcrafted drinks, and the Dilettante Mocha Café is no exception.
Recently, King County introduced vaccine verification for restaurants and businesses working inside the county. For the Dilettante Mocha Café, this means that visitors may need to show either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours.
Living up to its namesake, the Dilettante Mocha Café emphasizes quality coffee drinks, but most visitors don’t only come for coffee. Instead, the Dilettante Mocha Café treats customers to a breadth of pastry and food items. From Ahi Tuna Niçoise Salads to Old Fashioned Peanut Butter Cookies, there is something for everyone to love at the Dilettante Mocha Café.
Over the last several years, things have changed for the modern-day café. As menu options and selections expand, cafés can feel complicated and unintuitive. These are good changes for those looking for various possibilities but can just as easily lead to a feeling of bewilderment and confusion.
The chances are, if a person doesn’t frequent a café often, it is easy to feel like they don’t belong. People who frequent a café already know the staff, are familiar with the menu and can pop in and out with their specific order. It only makes sense that a newcomer would feel a little out of place given the environment. Yet, despite this, some cafés try to facilitate an environment to appeal to new and old visitors.
As the cool fall months continue, it is becoming increasingly important to spend more time cozy indoors. There are many places to stop for coffee during this season, but only one serves hand-dipped chocolate truffles.
From the moment visitors walk through the door, Dilettante’s chocolate confections are out on display. Surrounded by fall decorations, these truffles, caramel, and toffee pieces serve to compliment Dilettante’s mocha and coffee drinks.
These decadent handcrafted chocolates come in many flavors, appealing to a variety of different pallets. Between milk, dark, and white chocolate truffles, toffee pieces, and caramels, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Caffeine can stay in a person’s system for many hours. The awake and jittery feelings can disrupt sleep patterns and make it challenging to enjoy rest. Apart from sleep, caffeine affects everyone’s body differently. So, if a person starts to feel sick of caffeine, it is good to work it out of the system.
After much anticipation, the Mocha Café Team is proud to announce the new location is finally open. Stop by the Plaza Center at Bellevue from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for a refreshing meal or drink.
Over the past months, Dilettante worked to prepare its latest mocha café at Bellevue’s Plaza Center. Moving through the revolving doors of Plaza Center reveals a comfortable and quiet café atmosphere.
Cafés have an expansive menu of drink options, and sometimes these options can get confusing. For example, as the name implies, the Dilettante Mocha Café is known for its mocha drinks, but it may not be clear why a mocha is different from a latte or a frappe.
The two drinks can be easily confused due to the similar flavors they share. Both of these drinks are made with espresso as a primary ingredient and have key differences that set themselves apart.
For months, people have wondered about Dilettante’s newest Plaza Center location. The transparent windows of the café have since attracted the attention of the occasional passerby in Bellevue. Inside, the café has added wall decorations, tables, chairs, menu boards, and more. The Plaza Center will open soon, and visitors can expect big things.
